Autism and self-worth.

Being Autistic can be really hard sometimes. Some days are great, and some are just not great at all. 😦 Becuase of being different and because of different challenges some Autistic people can wonder “Am I worth it?”. It’s especially hard these days when a lot of people just want the Autistic person to be “Normal” otherwise known as “Neurotypical” (NT).

Autistic people can wonder this if NT’s judge them, try to suppress stimming, ignore their sensory issues, etc. When your Autistic you can feel like NOBODY understands you, like your an alien from another planet.

The best thing for this? For me it’s listening to music, drawing, and reading. Finding something enjoyable to do can help an autistic person feel better. Encouraging and Autistic person in what they do could be a great way to help. Also telling the Autistic person that you accept them even though they are “Autistic” could be another great way to help with self confidence. 🙂

Sometimes I feel like I’m not worth it, but I try to press through and tell myself I am worth it. 🙂
